Note: this is a world of vinyl records, no computers, and rotary phones with crazy long cords. It’s not set in the past, though — I imagine it as a slightly alternate-universe-ish present day.

The retro-vibe to BVB is, like, totally fab!
I’m also so addicted to writing dialogue in this retro-cartoony style that it think it may have crept into my real-life speech patterns. Just watch me wreck some important work meeting now by calling someone a chump or a fink.
I just stumbled across this via that Webcomics plugin site’s “folks who use this” showcase thingy and am super digging it.
I’m especially loving the coloring, and as a big typographical nerd, the way you’re switching up lettering almost panel-to-panel. The whole retro vibe is great, keep it up.
Thanks — glad you like it! I’m also a big type/lettering nerd, and I’ve been having a lot of fun with this self-imposed constraint of No Fonts Allowed.
Well *I* stumbled on this site through Josh’s twitter, just flew through the archive and dig it to pieces! I love finding comics where you can tell the creator is scratching his/her childhood fancy while at the same time making it his/her own – it’s rad! (and so is this comic!)
((obviously!!))
Thank you! Glad to hear you dig it.
Yeah, for me it’s kind of about unironically loving wholesome retro musical cartoons while simultaneously wanting to subvert them.
